A comprehensive guide on coffee
making
Even though
there are multiple ways to make coffee; you can implement few tips and tricks
using a coffee maker to ensure a good cup of coffee. French press or placing
coffee dripper over a mug is also a replacement option if in case of
unavailability of coffee maker.
Ingredients required
·
Hot water
·
One to two tablespoons of instant coffee
·
1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar
·
Dairy milk or sweeteners
·
Vanilla extract (optional)
First method:-
With the help of a Coffee maker
·
The overall quantity of water required is purely based
on the total number of coffee servings you wish to make. In normal
circumstances, only six ounces of water is enough for each serving of coffee.
The water level can be gauged with the help of either a carafe or a measuring
cup. Switch over to filtered or boiled water instead of using tap, distilled or
softened water.
·
Slowly and gently open the filter compartment and make
sure it does contain a mesh filter basket. Paper filters can also be used if in
case of unavailability of mesh filter basket. They are very helpful in
filtering out the coffee grounds.
·
Include 7 gm of ground coffee for each coffee serving.
Those who wish to have a stronger coffee may add two tablespoons. In order to
enhance the taste of coffee, you may grind up the entire coffee beans.
·
Now you may slide the filter and cover the lid. Switch
on the coffee maker to begin the brewing process. The estimated time required
is about five minutes. Pay close attention to the dripping sound from the
coffee maker. The brewing process is complete once the dripping is over.
·
Switch off the coffee maker and the filter has to be
removed. Later, dispose of the grounds. Make sure that you carefully open the
lid since it might release hot steam.
·
Before serving the coffee, add few quantities of
sugar, sweeteners or maple syrup. Non-dairy milk such as almond and soy are a
good substitute for dairy milk.
Second Method: Without using a
coffee maker
·
Pour few quantities of water into the pan. It is
recommended to include additional water than the total amount of coffee to
prevent wastage.
·
Now stir the coffee grounds well.
·
Adjust the gas burner to either medium or high to
reach a boiling point. You are required to stir at regular intervals to prevent
burning of coffee grounds at the bottom.
·
Allow the coffee to boil for a few minutes more
·
Later, switch off the gas burner and take out the pot
from the stove. Let it remain still for duration of four minutes. The main
purpose behind this step is to allow the grounds to settle at the bottom.
·
Lastly, you are required to pour the brewed coffee
directly to the mug with the help of a ladle while keeping the grounds intact.
